“Out of everything, these Caliray color correctors caught my eye first,” says RaeDawn, a self-professed product junkie. Correctors are formulas that pro makeup artists use all the time to cancel out unwanted tones, like dark under-eye circles and redness. “This color range is really amazing; most skin tones will be able to find the right corrector for them. I tested the orange shade on Giselle, and it really brightened up her under-eye area—plus, they’re super, super creamy, so they’re easy to blend.”
“Fenty has it going on, honey! I’m in love with this product,”
says Giselle (after her rendition of Rihanna’s work, work, work, work, work). “It’s a repair mask, so it helps with breakage, which is especially key for people with curly hair who don’t want to get frequent trims. Let it sit on wet hair in the shower for at least five minutes, but I’ve also put some on the ends of hair in-between wash days—they need all the moisture they can get.”

“Ami Colé has come out with some beautiful products for women with deeper skin tones, and these lip liners are no different; the Midnight shade is for our richly–melanated girlies,” RaeDawn says. “This type of pencil will stay on the lip for a good amount of time, but it’s also supersoft and easy to apply, unlike some of the old-school versions.” Instead of drawing a hard line, RaeDawn likes to blend the liner along the lips so it looks soft and smooth.
Using a wax to tame edges, flyaways, and frizz isn’t new, but this handy stick formula hydrates and protects hair with plum oil and yuzu while it defines and holds strands in place. “I can use this on Gayle tonight!” Giselle says. “So I’m taking it with me, thank you very much. It’s such a travel-friendly size, perfect for touching up before an event or after the gym.”

“Looking at these gorgeous lipsticks, I can hear Gayle’s voice in my head; she’d be asking me which one is closest to her favorite lip color, which is cinnamon!” RaeDawn says. “I always mix a couple of shades together to create it for her. So if you want Gayle’s signature Cinnamon lip, you need to mix the Rendez-Vous shade with the Dirty Talk shade!” These are such luxurious formulas that they’re easy to blend together and leave a soft, satin finish.
“Everything Dyson makes works well for me, including this new styler, which hydrates and adds a bit of hold,” Giselle says. “After I finish styling, or even midday, if I see a dry, fuzzy section that’s screaming for moisture, then I can reach for a bit of this without worrying that it’s going to weigh down the hair too much—this is lightweight and smells great.”

Everyone needs an amazing black liquid eyeliner. “The cat eye will never be out of style!” RaeDawn declares. “This one has the best color payoff—it’s a super-deep black, which can be hard to find. Plus it glides on easily. Also, I’ve done the touch test: Once it dried down, I attempted to smudge it. Didn’t budge!”
“Everyone can use a leave-in conditioner, but it’s especially essential for keeping curls happy,” Giselle says. Mist this on damp hair, then detangle. It has built-in heat protection, so you can safely diffuse or blow-dry if you want, and it leaves hair glossy. “Also, if your waves need a boost later, then I’d go off-label and use this to refresh them.”

“Whoa, look at these cheek colors. The orange and dark cherry hues will look stunning on darker skin tones. And I’m loving the soft lilac for fair skin. Or imagine that lilac on the eyelids for a night event!” RaeDawn says. On the cheek, this blush helps to create a glass-skin look, so the formula acts like skincare—it hydrates with a goji berry complex and leaves a glowy finish.
“Moroccanoil is always a win for me; it’s an incredible hydrating oil that you can apply to damp hair before you start styling or to dry hair to smooth frizz,” Giselle says. This new purple version has the extra benefit of making blonde and gray hair look more vibrant. “These hair colors are prone to looking brassy and feeling stripped, so they need everything this formula offers. It’s really the perfect treatment for them,” Giselle says.

“This isn’t just a tinted brow gel. This is like brow lamination in a bottle—that’s pretty cool. I’m here for this quick fix because it lifts, holds, and creates a bushier brow,” RaeDawn says. “My tip is to first apply the gel in the opposite direction of the hair to deposit the pigment and then groom them back in place. Your brows will look so much fuller.”
“I’m super girly, so these immediately caught my eye! But more than that, they’re hair ties that are actually safe and gentle on all hair types,” Giselle says. “They don’t have anything that will cause your hair to snag or get caught in the band. And I can stretch them so wide—anyone’s texture will fit in one of these. Plus, they’re so soft you can sleep with them.”
