Justin Bieber skyrocketed to fame at 15 years old — the same age his mentor, Usher, was when the “Confessions” singer was legally in the custody of his own mentor: Sean “Diddy” Combs.

It was through the Usher connection that a 15-year-old Bieber was introduced to Diddy, who later remarked to Jimmy Kimmel that he and the then-teen met “in a strange way” back in 2009.

That same year, Bieber and the hip-hop mogul collaborated on a song together that never saw the light of day. (The “Baby” singer was later featured on Diddy’s track “Moments,” which appears on the rapper’s 2023 record, The Love Album: Off the Grid.)

Back in the 2000s and 2010s, Bieber and Diddy — who is nearly 25 years older than the “Lonely” artist — were filmed together multiple times. Unsurprisingly, of course, because the Bad Boy executive also served as somewhat of a mentor to Bieber at the time.

But now that Diddy is sitting in jail on multiple federal sex crimes charges — and facing lawsuits from more than 100 more accusers, including minors — dozens of past videos and interviews with the disgraced hip-hop mogul are resurfacing and being seen in a different light. Diddy’s past footage with Bieber — whether it be a formal sit-down interview or a more casual video for fans — is particularly being scrutinized in the wake of his colossal downfall.

In November 2009, a then 15-year-old Bieber uploaded a video to his official YouTube channel titled, “JUSTIN BIEBER’s 48 HRS with DIDDY!!”

“You ever seen the movie 48 Hrs?” Diddy said directly to the camera in one of several videos with Bieber to go viral in the wake of the allegations against the rapper.

“Right now [Justin is] having 48 hours with Diddy, him and his boy. They’re having the times of their lives,” the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist shared. “Like where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.”

Diddy went on to compare his weekend with Bieber to when he had “legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album.” (Usher — who began living with Diddy when he was 13 in the early ’90s — later told Howard Stern that he noticed “very curious things taking place” during Diddy’s “Puffy Flavor Camp” parties. He also told the shock jock “hell no” when asked if he’d ever allow one of his children to attend “Puffy Camp.”)

In the 2009 video with Bieber, Diddy further quipped that he had “custody” of the teen for the weekend, though it wasn’t legal. Still, he noted, “for the next 48 hours, [Justin’s] with me … and we’re gonna go … buck full crazy.” As the video concluded, Diddy called Bieber “a man after my heart” after the “Boyfriend” singer remarked he wanted to “go get some girls.”

Watching it back now, fans were horrified.

“The fact this is out in the open for 14 years and nobody questioned it until now is crazy,” one person commented on the YouTube video.

“48 hours with Diddy sounds like a horror movie,” another person added.

A third fan pointed out just how much Bieber looked up to Diddy at the time — as evident by the video, in which the teen star seems to want to emulate his mentor’s lifestyle as much as possible.

“The way he’s trying to mimic diddy, he saw him as a role model, and look what diddy did…. Im sobbing,” they wrote.

In more video footage from around 2010, a teen Bieber was in the recording studio when Diddy showed up.

“What’s up man, you good?” Diddy asked Bieber in the clip, before appearing to troll him about his enormous success.

“Selling out arenas and everything? Starting to act different, huh?” Diddy questioned Bieber, who appeared flustered. “You haven’t been calling me and hanging out the way we used to hang out.”

“Well I mean, you haven’t … you tried to get in contact with me through all my, you know, my partners and whatnot, but you never really got my number,” Bieber replied. “So, you want my number? I’m gonna tell you my number.”

After the video resurfaced amid the Diddy drama, viewers saw the clip as “creepy,” with many pointing out that “Justin seems nervous around him.”

In 2011, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! together, Diddy warned Bieber, then 17, about publicly speaking about their time together.

“[Justin] had the Lambo[rghini] for a day or two and he had access to the house, and he knows better than to be talking about the things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television,” Diddy said during their 2011 appearance on the late-night talk show.

In 2014, per photos taken at the event, a shirtless Bieber attended Diddy’s Ciroc vodka party at the Vanquish Lounge in Atlanta. (The bash was also attended by other huge players in the hip-hop world, including Rick Ross and Jermaine Dupri.) in many photos from the night, Diddy could be seen partying and grinning at the camera with his arm around Bieber, who was 19 at the time.

Seven years later, in a video taken around 2021, Diddy can be seen greeting Bieber right outside of a car. As the two embrace, the rapper appeared to pat down the singer all around his torso. While the clip was seen as innocuous at the time, when watching it again the wake of the scandal, many fans wondered if Diddy was actually checking Bieber for a police wire at the time.

Though Bieber has not publicly spoken out about Diddy’s alleged crimes or the resurfaced videos, a source recently told Us Weekly that the “Love Yourself” artist was “completely disgusted” by the allegations against his former mentor, adding that he “wants nothing to do with this entire situation” and “wants to protect himself” from the drama of the scandal.

“Justin is in a hard place mentally right now,” a second insider told the outlet. “He has such a history with Diddy and the allegations against him have been hard to process.”

After his Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided by officials in March, Diddy was arrested in New York in September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. A 14-page indictment against the rapper included dozens of disturbing allegations about Diddy, including claims that he orchestrated and filmed “freak off” parties, which sometimes “lasted days at a time, involved multiple commercial sex workers, and often involved a variety of narcotics such as ketamine, ecstasy, and GHB, which Combs distributed to the victim to keep them obedient and compliant,” US Attorney Damian Williams alleged in a press conference in September. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.)

Weeks later, as famed attorney Gloria Allred gathered her own additional clients who are set to file their own lawsuits against Diddy, lawyer Tony Buzbee announced in a bombshell press conference that his firm and another law group will be representing 120 additional accusers — 60 men, 60 women — including victims who were allegedly as young as 9 at the time.

Diddy and intends to testify during his trial, which has been set for May 5, 2025.
